Accessibility – arvelarts.com
Hi, Arvel here.
I’m a one-person (well, two-person ♥) operation, but I want as many people as possible to enjoy the strange little forest I’m building here.
What I’ve done so far:
All important images have alt text (descriptive text for screen readers)
The site has good colour contrast (black ink on white background helps a lot!)
Text can be resized up to 200 % without breaking the layout
You can navigate most things with just a keyboard
No flashing or auto-playing videos
Simple, clear language everywhere
What’s still being improved:
Some of the super-detailed artwork close-ups are very complex images — I’m slowly adding longer, more detailed descriptions for those
I’m testing everything with real screen readers and will keep fixing things as I learn
If something on the site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell me!
Write to contact.arvelart@gmail.com (or ask someone to write for you) and I’ll fix it as fast as I can. Seriously — no request is too small.
This site was built with love by my fiancée and me, and we want everyone to feel welcome in the forest.
Thank you!
